The Wildlife WayStation is a nonprofit organization that operates a few miles from my home. They accept wild animals of all varieties, and provide them with a safe retirement or place them in zoos or animal parks throughout the country. The animals come from a variety of sources; entertainment, private homes, circuses, you name it. Located within the Angeles National Forest, the WayStation is a sanctuary within a sanctuary for thousands of wild and exotic animals.

The WayStation was open to the public until recently, when the County of Los Angeles required additional fire safety and prevention measures. They're currently raising funds (several million dollars) to make the required modifications. However, they kindly agreed to allow me to photograph the station for the WWP project. This panorama opens on the valley that shelters the bulk of the WayStation's 160-acre refuge.
