Lake Ontario is the last of the Great Lakes that water east of the Continental Divide will flow through on it's way out to the Atlantic. Covering 7,340 sq. miles the lake can quickly become a stormy and dangerous place to be. The sight of the Oakville Harbour Light welcomes sailors into it's safe refuge. This historic town of Oakville is a short walk from the harbour.
On this particular day a cold front passed through with temperatures of -18°C and a wind chill of -31°c. The cold air provided a crispness in the atmospheric conditions as well as a few frostbitten fingers. Out on the lake one can see mist rising from the warmer water causing a surreal effect.
